Buying a keyboard in the UAE has never been more exciting — or more confusing. Walk into Gigstore's showrooms in Dubai or Abu Dhabi and you will find dozens of models on display, from compact portable keyboards for first-time players to flagship professional arranger workstations used on stages around the world. The brands include Korg, Roland, Yamaha, and Arturia — and each model is built for a different type of player, purpose, and budget.
This guide breaks down every type of keyboard available at Gigstore UAE — what each type does, who it is for, and which specific models to consider — so you can make the right decision with confidence.
Types of Keyboards Available in the UAE — Understanding the Difference
Not all keyboards are the same. Each type is designed for a different purpose, player level, and musical context. Here is a clear breakdown:
- Arranger Keyboards — Auto-accompaniment instruments with built-in backing styles, rhythm patterns, and sound libraries. Designed for solo performers and live entertainers.
- Digital Pianos — Instruments designed to replicate the feel and sound of an acoustic piano, with weighted key actions. Essential for piano students and home players.
- Stage Pianos — Professional digital pianos built for live performance. No built-in speakers; connect to a PA system or amplifier on stage.
- Synthesizers — Sound design instruments that generate and shape sound electronically. Used in electronic music, pop, and studio production.
- Workstation Keyboards — All-in-one production instruments combining sound engines, sequencers, and samplers. Built for composers and producers.
- MIDI Keyboards and Controllers — No built-in sounds. Connect to a computer to control software instruments and DAWs. Essential for home studio producers.
- Portable and Beginner Keyboards — Lightweight, affordable, and often battery-powered. Ideal for first-time players and children.
1. Arranger Keyboards in the UAE — For Solo Performers and Entertainers
Arranger keyboards are the most popular keyboard type in the UAE and the wider Middle East. They allow a single musician to perform with the sound of a full band — automatic accompaniment styles, rhythm patterns, and orchestral sounds all triggered from a single instrument. They are the go-to choice for wedding performers, event entertainers, and solo artists across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and the GCC.
A critical feature for UAE musicians is quarter-tone scale support and Arabic and Oriental style libraries. These are available across the Korg PA range and Roland E-X series, making arranger keyboards ideal for maqam-based music in Arabic, Turkish, and Persian traditions.
As the official Korg distributor in the UAE, Gigstore carries the complete Korg PA lineup with genuine UAE manufacturer warranty and full after-sales support.

2. Digital Pianos in the UAE — For Piano Students and Home Players
A digital piano is designed to feel and sound as close to an acoustic piano as possible. The defining feature is the weighted key action — keys that resist your touch just as acoustic piano keys do. This resistance is essential for developing correct finger strength, control, and piano technique.
If you or your child is learning piano from a teacher in Dubai or Abu Dhabi, a digital piano with fully weighted keys is strongly recommended. Practising on unweighted keys does not develop the correct technique for acoustic or grand piano performance.

3. Stage Pianos in the UAE — For Professional Live Performers
Stage pianos are professional instruments built specifically for live performance. They have no built-in speakers — you connect them to a PA system or keyboard amplifier — but offer premium weighted key actions, exceptional sound engines, and the durability required for regular gigging. If you perform at concerts, corporate events, hotels, or recording sessions across Dubai and Abu Dhabi, a stage piano is the professional standard.

4. Synthesizers in the UAE — For Sound Designers and Electronic Musicians
Synthesizers generate sound electronically, enabling musicians and producers to create and shape sounds that do not exist in nature — from rich pads and evolving textures to aggressive basses and percussive leads. They are the foundation of electronic music, pop production, film scoring, and experimental composition, and they are increasingly popular among UAE producers and performing musicians.

5. Workstation Keyboards in the UAE — For Producers and Composers
A workstation keyboard is the most complete standalone production instrument available. 6. MIDI Keyboards and Controllers in the UAE — For Studio Producers

They are the essential production tool for beatmakers, composers working in software, and home studio musicians across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and the UAE.
If you produce music in Ableton Live, Logic Pro, FL Studio, Cubase, or any other DAW, a MIDI keyboard controller is one of the most important investments in your studio setup.
