16x16 AES3 Dante Interface
RedNet D16R MkII provides 16 channels of AES3 input and 16 channels of AES3 output over a Dante network. Two AES59-standard DB25 connectors each carry eight channels of AES3 I/O, providing a practical multichannel connection for digital consoles, converters, processors, recorders, and other professional equipment.
Independent Input and Output Level Control
A key feature of the MkII generation is independent per-channel level control. Using RedNet Control, engineers can adjust every input and output from -78dB to 0dB in precise 1dB steps. This makes it easier to calibrate connected equipment, align digital systems, and manage signal levels without additional external hardware.
Sample Rate Conversion
Every input channel includes sample rate conversion, allowing external digital equipment operating at different sample rates to integrate smoothly into the Dante system. The converters support a wide input range from 32kHz to 214kHz, providing flexible compatibility for professional digital audio installations.
Flexible AES3, S/PDIF and DARS Connectivity
In addition to the primary DB25 AES3 connections, RedNet D16R MkII provides alternate AES3 connectivity through XLR and two-channel S/PDIF through RCA connectors. The XLR input can accept DARS for digital audio reference, while the RCA output can duplicate a selected AES3 channel pair.
Professional Clocking
Word Clock input and output on 75-ohm BNC connectors allow RedNet D16R MkII to integrate with a studio or facility's master clock. The interface can use internal clocking, Word Clock, DARS, AES input, or the Dante network master as its clock source.
Redundant Power and Network Connections
RedNet D16R MkII is designed for installations where reliability is essential. Two independent internal power supplies and dual network connections provide redundancy, with automatic switchover if a primary power or Ethernet path becomes unavailable.
Dante Network Integration
The RedNet D16R MkII integrates with Focusrite RedNet and Red interfaces as well as compatible Dante devices from a wide range of manufacturers. Its dual etherCON ports can be configured for redundant networking, while Dante Controller and RedNet Control provide remote routing, configuration, and system management.
High-Performance Digital Audio
With 24-bit operation and support for sample rates up to 192kHz, RedNet D16R MkII is designed for accurate professional digital audio transport. Its input sample rate converters offer greater than 138dB dynamic range using the specified measurement method, with low distortion and network-dependent latency as low as 11 samples.
Compact 1U Rackmount Design
The 1U chassis provides high-density digital I/O while conserving valuable rack space. Front-panel LED indicators provide immediate visibility of power supply status, network activity, sample rate, signal presence, and clock source, making system monitoring straightforward in studio, broadcast, and live environments.
