Liverpool is famous for music. Well, it's famous for four musicians, and this is Korg's tribute to the band that changed everything. Two generations of musicians and fans have grown up that weren't even born by the time the lads from Liverpool broke up, but still, the band's appeal remains fresh today.

The Korg Liverpool Professional Arranger Workstation is a compact 61-key arranger keyboard designed for performers who want instant access to fully arranged backing styles, professional-quality sounds, and an intuitive live performance workflow. Built on Korg’s HI (Hyper Integrated) synthesis system, the Liverpool combines powerful sound generation, real-time accompaniment, and song-based performance features in a lightweight, portable instrument.

Designed with an emphasis on musical immediacy, the Liverpool integrates built-in styles inspired by classic songwriting eras, including dedicated Lennon & McCartney content, allowing users to perform full arrangements with drums, bass, guitars, and orchestral backing at the press of a button. It is particularly suited for solo entertainers, practice environments, and live performers who need complete backing support without external sequencing systems.

Arranger & Style System

The Liverpool’s arranger engine is built around real-time style playback that automatically follows chord input from the keyboard. Each style includes multiple variations, intros, endings, fills, and break sections, allowing performers to create full song arrangements instantly.

Up to 240 styles can be stored and reconfigured, each supporting multiple accompaniment tracks including drums, bass, guitar, and harmonic layers. The system is designed for real-time performance flexibility, making it possible to transition seamlessly between different musical sections during live play.

Sound Engine & Tone Generation

At its core, the Liverpool uses Korg’s HI synthesis system, delivering a wide range of expressive instrument sounds with resonance filtering and dynamic response. The sound set includes acoustic pianos, electric pianos, organs, guitars, basses, strings, brass, synths, and percussion.

The 32 MB PCM memory includes stereo piano samples and high-quality waveforms optimized for arranger performance, ensuring clarity and realism across both solo and ensemble contexts.

Sequencing & Performance Workflow

The integrated XDS dual sequencer allows two songs or sequences to be played simultaneously with crossfade control. This enables smooth transitions between songs during live performance, a key feature for entertainers and stage musicians.

The sequencer supports real-time and step recording, along with MIDI file playback (SMF format 0 and 1), making it suitable for both live use and basic song production.

Effects & Sound Processing

The Liverpool includes four stereo multi-effect processors offering 89 effect types. These cover essential processing tools such as reverb, delay, modulation, chorus, flanger, EQ, and dynamic effects.

Each performance can be shaped in real time, allowing users to tailor sounds and styles to different venues and musical genres without external processing equipment.

Performance Controls

Designed for live usability, the Liverpool features a joystick controller for pitch and modulation control, a data dial, and assignable real-time controls for volume balancing between accompaniment and keyboard parts.

Additional performance functions include split modes, chord scanning, tempo control, transposition, and style switching, all optimized for fast access during performance situations.

Connectivity & Expansion

The instrument includes standard MIDI In/Out ports for integration with external instruments and recording setups. Audio inputs allow external sound sources to be processed through the internal effects system.

Storage is handled via SD/SDHC and MMC card support, enabling expansion of styles, songs, and user data.
