Solid State Logic Sigma – DAW-Controlled Analog Summing Engine
The Solid State Logic Sigma is a professional 2U rackmount analog summing engine designed to integrate classic SSL console sound into modern DAW-based workflows. It allows engineers to mix “in the box” while summing audio through a fully analog SSL SuperAnalogue signal path controlled directly from a DAW.
True SSL SuperAnalogue Summing
At the core of Sigma is SSL’s SuperAnalogue summing architecture, derived from flagship consoles such as Duality and AWS. It delivers wide stereo imaging, extended low-frequency response, and high headroom analog summing for professional mix bus processing.
DAW-Controlled Analog Mixing
Unlike traditional analog summing mixers, Sigma is fully remote-controlled from a DAW. Mix levels, pans, mutes, and routing are controlled via plug-ins or control software, allowing full session recall and automation while maintaining an analog signal path.
16 Flexible Input Channels
Sigma provides 16 analog input channels, each configurable as mono or stereo, allowing up to 32 channels of DAW output to be summed. Each channel features precise level control and LED metering for accurate gain staging.
Dual Stereo Mix Buses
The system includes two independent stereo mix buses (A and B), enabling engineers to create alternate mixes, parallel processing chains, or stem-based workflows. Each bus includes insert points for external analog processing.
Hybrid Studio Workflow Integration
Sigma bridges the gap between analog and digital mixing by allowing DAW automation to control analog summing behavior. This makes it ideal for hybrid studios that want analog summing character without sacrificing modern workflow efficiency.
Monitoring and Control Features
The unit includes a built-in monitor controller section with talkback, headphone outputs, and monitor switching. These functions can also be controlled remotely, making Sigma a compact central hub for studio monitoring.
