dBTechnologies DVX P215 2-Way Passive Speaker
Brand
D B TECHNOLOGIES
The dBTechnologies DVX P215 is a high-output 2-way passive loudspeaker engineered specifically to deliver powerful full-range audio performance with rich low frequencies and accurate voice reproduction. Equipped with premium neodymium transducers, this passive cabinet delivers high sound pressure levels and exceptional dynamic range, making it an ideal standalone solution for live venues, music events, and performance spaces without requiring a dedicated subwoofer.
The dB Technologies DVX P215 is a high-end passive speaker designed as the ideal choice for use as a Front-of-House (FOH) system, acting both as a full-range or as a bi-amped speaker. Engineered to render speech contents, background music, and any other kind of audio in medium- to large-sized rooms, it gives more prominence to the lowest part of the frequency range to deliver a warm, assertive bass response without requiring an added subwoofer.
Acoustic Design & Component Overview
The DVX P215 features two high-quality 15-inch woofers (with 3-inch voice coils) and a 1.4-inch neodymium compression driver (with a 2.5-inch voice coil and a titanium dome) mounted on a 90°x40° rotatable constant-directivity (CD) aluminum horn. The rotatable CD horn allows the user to maintain the same high-frequency coverage angle even when the speaker is used horizontally.
The premium crossover contains precision filters featuring a 12 dB/octave slope for the low-pass part and an 18 dB/octave slope for the high-pass part. Additionally, a self-resetting thermal protection circuit (PTC) is integrated on the high-frequency driver to prevent protracted overloading. This thermal protection always remains active in both full-range and bi-amp configurations.
Operational Flexibility: Full-Range & Bi-Amp Modes
When deployed in a bi-amped configuration, care must be taken to avoid component damage: ensure that the power amplifier (such as the dB Technologies HPA3100) delivers power consistent with official specifications. Furthermore, the cut-off frequency between the woofer and driver must be managed by a loudspeaker management system (such as the dB Technologies AC26N) according to product specifications to achieve optimal sound safely.
Mechanical Build & Rigging Features
The enclosure is constructed from durable multiplex birch plywood and features 4 handles that enable easy transport. Versatility is further extended by 11 x M10 threaded rigging points and an adjustable foot built into the bottom of the housing.
